"Edwards speaks with an accent they can all understand down there," quoth a pundit on the Charlie Rose Show tonight. What the hell does that mean? These two look like they're speaking with a lisp that the West Coast (or maybe Boston) might be able to understand *better* than Southerners. I know, I know, that's not that nice.
Still, the assumption that Southerners need someone who speaks in a particular dialect in order to get a vote is silly and offensive. If that's all it took, I'd be a rabid Bush advocate. After all, he's got that Texas vernacular-thang going on. I don't speak like Walter Cronkite either. But by that token, I hate to say I'm more in line with Cheney - "Go Fuck Yourself." I hate politics. It's froth with lies and misrepresentations. (Don't even get me *started* on poor little naive Michael Moore and his half truths!)
